Nomenclature

Le nom scientifique Prionops rufiventris a été décrit par Bonaparte en 1853.

Notes taxonomiques (IUCN) : Prionops caniceps and P. rufiventris (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously lumped as P. caniceps following Dowsett and Forbes-Watson (1993).
