Le nom scientifique Acrochordopus burmeisteri a été décrit par Cabanis & Heine en 1860.

Notes taxonomiques (IUCN) : Phyllomyias burmeisteri and P. zeledoni (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously lumped as P. burmeisteri following AOU (1998 & supplements); SACC (2005 & updates)
