Nomenclature

Le nom scientifique Bycanistes fistulator a été décrit par Cassin en 1850.

Notes taxonomiques (IUCN) : Bycanistes fistulator and B. sharpii (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) were previously lumped as B. fistulator following Dowsett & Forbes-Watson (1993), and before then were present in the genus Ceratogymna as C. fistulator following Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).
