Venezuelan Flycatcher - Myiarchus venezuelensis

Tyran du Venezuela

Venezuelan Flycatcher adult, non-breeding
A species essentially restricted to Venezuela & Tobago.

Similar to the much commoner Brown-crested Flycatcher (M. tyrannulus) from which it is distinguished by a lack of a pink base to the lower mandible (uniformly dark bill) & grey rather than rufous edging to the primaries with no rufous in the tail. It is indistinguishable from Panama Flycatcher & the brunnescens race of Short-crested Flycatcher in the field but does not overlap these species throughout most of its range.
